The Yarmouth Workers Project was established in 2025 to support working class solidarity across Great Yarmouth.
The project was started by two people who live and work in the town. It is clear that most people’s experiences of work in GY aren’t good – with long hours, poor working conditions and low pay.
Yarmouth Workers Project began by speaking with workers about their experiences and learning what issues were happening in different workplaces and industries to help support working class organising in the town.
What we do
- Run events and workshops for workers (e.g. know your rights workshops)
- Support workers to get organised and unionise their workplaces
- Support workers who are organised and taking action
- Publish workers writing about their experiences
- Research and map workers’ experiences across local workplaces and industries
